“Jisung,” came the reply, gentle, unhurried, carried in the most melodious voice Minho had ever heard. The sound settled over him like sunlight breaking through clouds, warm and grounding, and he clung to it instinctively, as if simply repeating the name in his mind could tether him to this fragile moment of calm.
“Nice to meet you, Jisung. Wait… you can speak?!” Minho blurted before he could stop himself, voice louder than intended. Heat flushed his cheeks. “Oh no, that’s not what I meant. I’m sorry… sometimes my mouth is faster than my brain.” He rubbed the back of his neck, fumbling for words, wishing the floor would swallow him whole. That familiar sinking feeling told him he’d just ruined everything, and maybe he should leave before embarrassing himself further.
