Summary
Tommy likes looking at the stars; they remind him of a simpler time. Now the 13-year-old goes between foster homes every few weeks being too difficult for most to deal with. He doesn’t let anyone in; nobody is allowed to know him. He has no friends and feels alone against the whole world.
Phil, on the other hand, has it good. A few years ago, having already adopted two boys, he gets an emergency placement call for a troubled teenager. He opens up his house and his heart, ready for the unknown times.

Summary
Did you know that the last time I held you would be the last? I can still see you beside me, giggling and smiling into my chest, oh what I would do for that moment again. The warmth radiating from your body to mine, keeping me warm in the winter cold. I miss the warmth even though I used to hate how hot it would be during the summer it is all I can think about now. I can still hold your hand, they allow me to kiss your forehead but that is about it. Your eyes are shut closed, there is a tube in your airway, to help you. The machines keep beeping ever so often reminding me you’re still with us, even though you can’t show it. The doctors are still hopeful, nobody wants you to go, I can’t imagine my life without you in it.
Dream and George get in a car accident, one of them makes it out better than the other.
