Eyes as black as pitch in the depth of the night. Soundless and scalding and analytical. Head cocked, smoke blown out the nose, gauzy in faintest moonlight. Krueger knows the kind of night he’s having, having witnessed it before. He might’ve predicted it coming, with some sixth or seventh sense, lying here in wait like a trapdoor spider.
Or, it might just be a coincidence.
