Summary
If Langdon was actually clever, he would have already sweat this feeling out, spit it out like a wad of blood he can’t keep forever. Instead, it feels like in every shared day shift with Robby, he’s swallowing down his emotions and then they come back up his throat like vomit. There’s an uncanny resemblance there, a similarity between what Langdon hides in his locker and what he keeps in his mouth, behind his teeth; both give him this feeling—a longing to be found, but Langdon can’t find himself willing to give anything up first.

Summary
Dennis and Robby broke up about a year ago due to Dennis’s unresolved personal issues. Convinced he’d left Robby behind for good, Dennis never expected that seeing him again on his wedding day would bring everything rushing back as if nothing had changed. And Robby never expected that at the first wedding he ever attended, he’d end up fucking the groom.
“I can’t forget you,” Dennis huffed, praying his voice wouldn’t tremble as he spoke. “I tried.. I even got help. Went to church regularly, attended therapy sessions to get rid of this thing, like I did everything I could and I, still looked for you in everyone.”
“And yet you still decided to leave me and get married.”

Summary
Frank has watched him since he was a student in his third year, since he started his residency, since he was ardent-eyed and young and still good and followed the man like a scorned daughter follows her mother, like a dog heeds to his master, like a moth lingers near a flame despite, despite, despite. Like a devotee, he looks at Robby like he’s a god, squints so he doesn’t see that the man on his knees in front of him is terribly, awfully, frightfully human.
Frank thinks, if Robby couldn’t save me, no one could.

Summary
Langdon and Robby would talk about everything and nothing, the younger man a seemingly endless font of energy and questions that Robby tried to answer—why had he gone into medicine and where he was born and what his family was like and if he had ever considered a different path.
“I feel like there was never anything else for me,” Langdon said, answering his own question before giving Robby a chance to speak, staring into his own eyes in the mirrored wall behind the bar. “Like I was born to do this.”
“Yeah,” Robby replied, scanning Langdon’s face in the mirror, through brown bottles of brandy. “A lot of young doctors say that.”
Langdon, a bright R1 in PTMC's emergency department, starts joining Robby on his early morning post-bar walks. Robby doesn't know what his game is. (Or, how Robby started having sex with his favorite resident.)
