Zuko had the scrawny prison guard over and on his back in an instant. His fist curled above his head, igniting itself in flames as he landed on top of him, lips pulled back in a scowl. "Not this time, you piece of shit."
"Wait! wait wait wait! Stop! It's me!" The guard heaved. Dark tan hands peeled off the helmet. Beneath it was an impossible face; one he remembered had clasped his hands ten months ago. Zuko's breath sucked in, fast and dry.
"Yeah," Sokka huffed, a soft smile slowly curling onto his lips. "You're okay now. It's just me."

Where Zuko is banished without Iroh or the task of searching for the Avatar for his honor, gets himself a bounty on his head, and has to be saved from Boiling Rock Prison by an annoying Southern Water Tribe warrior that makes him feel really weird.

Summary
Zuko is forced to confront his own morality when his father reveals a dastardly plan for the world. Things take a turn for the chaotic quickly when Ozai dies suddenly, leaving Zuko to figure out being Firelord on the fly. He is not even close to being ready, but he throws his full focus into the struggle to fix the world. Just when he is sure his life can't take another left, his past comes back to haunt him in the form of familiar blue eyes.

Until the day Sokka died, he knew he'd remember the cool gaze of the leopard-caribou as she looked upon him in his bank of snow. It hadn't been a malicious look, just a calculating one. She needed a meal, and she cared no more whether or not he was afraid than he’d cared whether the seal his father brought back from the beach in spring had felt fear before it died.
The stranger in the water had eyes like that now.
Sokka finds himself shipwrecked, stranded with no way home. When an impossible predator shows up to take advantage of an easy meal, Sokka must use all his wits to keep him distracted... and survive long enough to get back home for his sister's wedding.
