Pokémon was all fun and games—until it wasn't anymore.
Her name hasn't always been Hoshiko, but her old name hasn’t mattered since she was reborn in the world of Pokémon—a world more heartbreaking, cutthroat and complicated than the Nintendo games could have ever prepared her for. Reluctantly starting her Pokémon journey, Hoshiko must grapple with the fact that Pokémon often die in battle, adults can’t (or won’t) always protect children, and living in a universe you used to daydream about isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
