Of course Li Ming calls his uncle. Maybe not as often as Heart calls his parents, but he does his best. At least every other day, he takes the time to have a quick conversation with Uncle Jim, catch him up on what he's been up to, ask about Wen and the food truck – it's equal measures fun and a way to keep any stray homesickness at bay.
However. Things aren't as flawless as Li Ming wishes. Although their relationship has improved immensely… sometimes they fight like nothing has changed. And Li Ming doesn't know how to cope with that.
Li Ming has another fight with his uncle. Turns out things don't get better overnight, but he's trying, uncle Jim is trying, so Heart convinces him it will turn out alright.
