Dick slowly stood and its head jerked to follow the motion. He stepped forward until he was almost chest to chest with it. He knew it was a stupid thing to do—he was unarmored and unarmed, but he felt sure that it wasn't here to hurt him. It didn't flinch away or reach for its weapons when he approached. This close he could see that it was trembling. He reached up, telegraphing his movements, and gently gripped the hood's fabric. He paused, giving plenty of time for the Talon to pull away, but it didn't.
