Tommy hit the ground hard.
The ground rushed up to meet him before he could even register what was happening, a tangle of roots and fallen leaves scraping at his skin and tearing through his hoodie. The impact knocked the air from his lungs in a harsh, strangled sound, leaving his body rolling through undergrowth and roots as if the world itself was trying to catch him. His shoulder slammed into the earth, head clipping something solid, and his ankle twisting beneath him with a sharp, sickening snap that sent white-hot pain shooting up his leg.
He lay there, stunned, staring up at a canopy of green he didn’t recognise.

Summary
“I am- i need help” he said, wincing as he shifted his weight and his wings shuffled against his back, they were a deep blue that matched the sky.
“Clearly” was all Tommy could think to say, Henry had the demon as a minimal threat and was sniffing around the bushes again. The demon gave him a confused look and suddenly his face changed like a revelation and Tommy knew exactly what he was about to ask.
“I… I want to make a deal” he finally said and Tommy couldn’t even bring himself to react. Apparently he had the worst luck on the planet.

Tommy had been right about them being sellswords, they had been hired to take down a man who was traveling through the area but all previous attempts had ended in death and failure on their end. He was too smart for traps and too skilled to fight even as a group. They had a new plan but they knew he would see them coming a mile away so that was where Tommy came in.
