“I’ll book a flight right away,” she said in her perfect practiced tone, already ready to swivel around and rearrange Miranda’s schedule.
“No. No flight,” Miranda said, not looking up from the folder, her glasses perched on the edge of her nose as she scribbled in it.
Andy stopped dead in her tracks and stared at Miranda in surprise, with a hint of confusion, and she knew better than to ask.
“I’ll be driving there,” Miranda stated flatly, shutting the folder and looking up at Andy, taking off her glasses. “And you’re coming with me,” she punctuated by pointing the glasses directly at her.
