“He looks handsome, doesn't he?” pipes up Tsubaki, and it's only then that Haruka realizes that not only didn't he hear nothing of what the Prince said, but he's also been staring at him in silence for a moment too long.
“Huh” think, Haruka, think “is that… crystal thingie supposed to be hanging off his shoulder like that?”
“What? Where?!”
While the Prince and Tsubaki are busy fretting over the little crystal that is, quite in fact, hanging crookedly off his shoulder, Haruka takes the time to recompose himself.
Handsome? Somehow that feels like too reductive of a word to describe what the Prince looks like. Haruka has never been much of a man of words, but if he had to truly try, he'd say Suo looks ravishing. Magnificent. The sort of fantasy that stars in every teenager and not-so-teenager's wet dreams.
A very nicely wrapped gift, only just missing the bow. What a shame he won't have the opportunity to unwrap it.
