Goalies are recognized as a special set of people in the game of ice hockey, and the nature of their position and job tends to allow them leeway in their idiosyncrasies, and teams will most often humor and adapt to their goalie’s tendencies and personality.
Especially if they’re good at their job.Shane Hollander is very good at his job.

On the rare occasion that Hollander asserts himself on something with the team, they have learned to go along.

Shane Hollander was laughed out of Montreal. Gone were the days of the crowd screaming #24's name. His reputation tarnished. But that's okay. Shane found solace with the Ottawa Centaurs. Even better, Shane now gets to play on the same team as his husband.We were supposed to stand alone at the top, but we will always be there together. It's been rough, but Shane could not be happier.
Can’t say the same for the rest of the league, though!

Shane Hollander has a new hobby: he is obsessed with trying to find out who is killing all these hockey players. It's a great distraction from the backlash after he came out. But he has to admit that he's not really that upset that the greatest homophobes in the league start to disappear one by one. But that all changes when Ilya goes missing. Suddenly he is racing against the clock to save the man who is admittedly the love of his life.
