Summary
This one has been sitting in my WIPs for a while now. I’ve actually been workin on this one since before I even wrote chapter one of Someone Sweet Passing By and while I say this often, I genuinely mean it when I say that I’m extremely proud of this one.
Race is aged up to 17, so he’s now the same age as Devy. (Older by about two months) Since the age of adulthood was 21 back in 1899, I’ve swapped Jack to 20. Les is 7. Everyone else's ages are as I usually write them.
Also, sometimes I make Race’s name Anthony and sometimes it’s Antonio. It depends on my mood and/or how I think it looks and sounds with whoever he’s being paired up with.
Also in case you couldn’t tell, I love rarepairs that include Davey. Don’t know why, I just love it.

Summary
So this one came to me when I was listening to “I Don’t Wanna Wait” and I got the idea to combine it with “Don’t Wait” after I finished writing it because I wasn’t quite ready to be done with the timeline created in this story.
I am a Javey truther. I firmly believe they are all but canon. However, for reasons I can't explain, I absolutely LOVE writing Ravey. The dynamic is too cute.
The characters are pretty OOC but they resemble their canon personalities somewhat.

“He almost took them!” Jack cried, fire in his eyes like she’d never seen before. “Snyder almost took Race and Crutchie away from me, and it was your goddamn fault! For fuck’s sake, Katherine, he would have starved them or beat them to death and I would never see them again!”

“Oh, believe me,” Race said, “I know full well how much you don’t care about me!” His tone was close to hysterical, and his fists hit his thighs in unbridled fury. “Dammit, I thought we had a deal!”
It was like they’d been possessed. It was so unlike the Jack and Race they knew, enough to make Crutchie glance worriedly at Sarah, whose eyes were glued to the scene in disbelief.
