“And everyone is so old,” Tubbo complains. Somehow, without them knowing about it, Tubbo’s managed to swipe a waffle and is chewing on it happily. Sapnap stifles a laugh. “Well, not everyone, I guess- the kid in our room is our age, I think. He might be younger.”
Wilbur perks up. “Does he ice skate?”
“Yeah, he does. He’s got these sick skates and everything.” Tubbo explains. “He’s quiet though. We tried talking to him, but…”
“But?”
Tubbo shrugs. "He's quiet. He doesn't talk much. I guess he's busy."
or, Tommy's made it to the Olympics for figure skating- he's the youngest contestant on the ice and he's the favor for the gold. He's supposed to be living the dream. So why is he still so unhappy? And why do all these hockey players and snowboarders care so much about him?

He had one rule of not allowing himself to get attached to people but he would have never guessed that a foster family of the creator of Minecraft, an anime stan and a Soundcloud musician would break that rule.

“Hey, wait.” He gets up from his seat, coming over to Grian. “Are you okay? You look…” He looks down at him and frowns slightly. He lowers his voice. “You’ve got your ‘I want Scar cuddles’ look. Do you wanna come sit down? We can -”
“No, no, Scar. I’m okay, I don’t want to interrupt you guys. Go on, play your nerdy game. I’ll be okay, I can just take a nap.” He turns to leave, but Scar grabs his arm. His hold is light, enough that Grian could pull away if he wanted to, but…he doesn’t want to. Even just that slight point of contact and the proximity to Scar is enough to make him feel a bit better.
“I don’t wanna just leave you wanting, though. We can take a little break, or maybe pull a chair over that you can sit in and have it close to me, or…you could sit on my lap, or -”
Grian fights to keep the blush off his face at the thought of sitting on Scar’s lap. It wouldn’t be the first time he’s done it, but he’s never done it in front of Scar’s friends, most of whom (except for Bdubs) he doesn’t know that well.

Summary
Tommy was many things: feared, free, powerful… but he wasn’t proud.
He wasn’t proud of the title he had or the name they’d called him, honestly he didn’t think he deserved it. Tommy never had an evil plan, or a secret lair, or any of the cool things villains had. All he had was a shitty apartment and the clothes on his back, and a desire for more.
He couldn’t be a civilian, and he certainly wouldn’t be a hero, so he did what he had to do.
At fifteen years old, Red Death killed the top heroes in L’Manburg, and Tommy became a villain.
Or: Two years ago, the top heroes of L'Manberg were killed by Red Death. Now, ex-villain Tommy tries to juggle the fallout while also forging new relationships, some of which may be more complicated than they seem.

“You asked for me,” Tommy pants, trying not to show pain but knows he’s not succeeding as he heaves air like a man starved. “You asked the heroes to hand me over in exchange for the hostages. You’ve seen me fight. Zyghost knows too.”
He knows that Tommy can’t jump anymore, but that’s all of it. Maybe they’re thinking his electricity and power shocks is something tied to his teleportation, but they can’t know the true extent of Tommy’s “power” and he’s pretty sure that that is what’s keeping him alive.“You want to poke me,” he hisses, although it doesn’t sound nearly as threatening as he wants, when he’s so goddamned tired and hurt and fucking aching.
“You want to prod me. You want to figure out my powers. Either you think I’m your new bargaining chip or your new protégé you want to torture into submission,” he spits, hitting the nail on its fucking head when Sentinel freezes in his sights. “Well I’m fucking neither. I’m Theseus, illegal fucking vigilante and two of your hostages happened to be my family.“And this is personal, bitch.”
Or: Being a vigilante isn’t simple—or legal—but Tommy refuses to sit on the sidelines.

To have a brief and precious existence.How painfully human everyone was, as Tommy stood against the current of the river of constantly moving time. Watching as the water ran around his legs, his waist, his shoulders. Watching how it would eventually wash over his head and Tommy would hold his breath as the saltwater stung his eyes and filled his lungs, leaving crystalized salt to line his throat in jagged edges.
And from the ashes of his death, he’d come back the next day. His eyes always a little less blue than before, like the water had washed out the colour in them as his reflection drifted further and further away from the boy he’d once been.
Heart beating hard against the cage of his ribs and lungs filled with salt, Tommy swore to himself to never let anyone close again.

“Uh— Phil?” The man calls over his shoulder, golden eyes never leaving Tommy’s face, “I need your help over here.”
Tommy bares his teeth, wings fluttering threateningly. He doesn’t want the man to get help, he wants him to go away.
Another man steps into view. This one is short and blonde, with wings a hundred times bigger than Tommy’s, and he’s dressed just as nice as the first man. He hasn’t seen Tommy yet; he’s looking at the big pink one. Mouth open like he’s going to speak.
Tommy hisses again, louder this time. And the man's head snaps towards him— which doesn’t scare Tommy. He doesn’t shrink back, doesn’t try to tuck away his wings with a whine. Because he’s big. He’s big and scary; nothing is scarier than him and he knows it, because he says it.
“Oh,” The man says softly, expression falling at his eyes dart across Tommy’s face. “Oh, mate.”
