Mr. and Mrs. Petunia and Vernon Dursley are perfectly normal, thank you very much. It doesn’t matter that their nephew (son) could talk to snakes, or make people hurt, or other wondrous things. Or that their son had a vicious mean streak. They were still a perfectly normal, happy family.
Well, that’s how they look from the outside. If you were to take a look at the family within the privacy of their own home, you would find Vernon training his sons in various weapons and hand-to-hand combat. And Petunia would be teaching them about poisons and remedies. And Harry and Dudley would be either sparing in the hidden basement, cooking up some prank to pull on others, or studying. What they were studying, though, no one knew - and no one wanted to know.
They have many aunts and uncles that visited, but that was fairly rare as everyone was spread across the world. Only Vernon’s sister Marge lives in England permanently. And Uncle Tom is missing. He has been since before the Dursleys got Harry. Uncle Tom wasn’t actually an uncle to any of them - just a close friend. But still, he was Vernon’s brother, so he was the children’s Uncle, even if they never met him.
