With a sharp inhale, Corbeau instantly recognized their packaging as his preferred brands as well, and maybe he was too far gone in his exhaustion, for the boss to start seeing things that were not there— like his oldest friend having an inkling that he was on the brink of fainting and buying his medicine on the way back to check up on him was equivalent to Philippe entrusting his heart to Corbeau.
Or: When Corbeau was at the brink of exhaustion after pulling several all-nighters in a short period, Philippe unexpectedly came to the rescue not just by offering his boss' preferred medicine in hand, but his heart, too.
