“Jimin, I’m in love.”
“You are? When did this happen?”
“Just now. Look…”
Jimin follows the direction of his best friend Tae’s stare to its source and sees a guy across the plaza gently pushing a cap full of water toward a little squirrel that looks half-dead. As Jimin observes, the guy hoists himself on a short wall, sits cross-legged, and places an open book in his lap. He prepares his lunch, opening his sandwich and layering some chips inside it. Jimin continues watching as the guy bites into the sandwich, throws his head back with his eyes closed, then straightens up and looks at the sandwich like it offended him. As he chews, he picks the crumbs off the front of his shirt and tosses them to the squirrel waiting nearby.
“Squirrel boy?”
“Squirrel boy,” Tae sighs, resting his chin on his fist.

Jimin plays wingman for Taehyung after he develops a sudden, unexpected crush on a guy at their University, but finds himself drawn in as well.

“Do you know about any snow leopards at the university?" he asks, although he doesn't expect a positive answer. Preys and predators don’t interact much at the school premises, unless it's absolutely required. Most professors are sensitive enough not to force it though. They try to encourage them to work together, but without much success."
Namjoon stops his pacing finally, sitting down on the bed with a sigh. "No. Honestly, I thought they were extinct,” he says, so deep in thought he fails to register the disappointment on his friend’s face. “You're lucky it was too busy posturing to that wolf to attack you."
"I don't think it wanted to attack me," Jungkook mumbles, fiddling with the string of his sweatpants. "I think it was — protecting me ," he says, the panda hybrid looking at him as if he grew another head.
"You mean, it was protecting its dinner," Namjoon snorts.

Summary
“The mermaids are foolish enough to succumb to the most pathetic weakness. Love.” The captain sneers, and he kicks the scratched wooden door open with a slam.
Jimin gasps, and his hands fly up to clap over his mouth, heart slamming into his throat. The chains are blood-soaked, and wound so cruelly tightly around the boy hanging limply from them, bruised wrists and battered chest and a cruel collar viciously locked around his neck, chained to the wall behind him. But above everything, Jimin’s wide eyes and heaving lungs are caught on the enormous tail, deep purple iridescent scales, chained heavily and locked against the wooden slats at their feet. His bare torso is marred with dark bruising, littered with slashes, and his head hangs as if unconscious against his chest, long dark hair covering his face as he stirs weakly.
“See, those beasts I told you about?” The captain drawls, smug and aloof. “There’s six of them, with the power to take down any ship and capture any treasure and best any man, any king. And me?”
The captain leans down until his hard-lined face is inches from the mermaid’s, smirking when he flinches back with a quiet gasp and throwing Jimin a darkly victorious grin. “I have their youngest.”Bookmarked by Byulsunn (Byulsun)
