“Celine,” Rumi tried again, voice shaking as tears she didn’t even know she still had left to shed began to drip down her left cheek. “Celine, I said I love you.”

"Y'know. Something like, oh my god! The pop filter shot off the mic and gouged Mira in the eye! If only she had been wearing her sexy glasses!"
"Let's think of something else," Mira says.
"DJ Mira," Jinu corrects at the same time.
"It gouged DJ Mira in the eye!"

Summary
Rumi hadn’t meant to cause such a scene. She just wasn’t thinking straight.
Celine had told her Zoey and Mira would kill her if they found out what she was, and Rumi had come to the conclusion that she was probably right.
Her plan, as tenuous a description as that word was, was to cut the patterns out. If she could cut out the parts of her that made her dangerous, that made her less than human, that made her so unloveable, maybe she’d stop feeling so fucking guilty every time Mira or Zoey opened up to her.
They loved each other from the start, but it just wasn't that simple.

Vi looks at the big clock on the far wall. 7:46AM. She’s one minute late today. Every morning for the past six months - well, every morning Vi’s been on shift, so she’s just assuming about the other days - she’s passed by at exactly 7:45AM, always at a brisk walk, always in a perfectly-tailored suit, not a single long, silky-looking hair out of place.
7:47AM. The crisp clack of heeled boots on concrete pulls Vi out of her musings. There must have been some sort of emergency, because the subject of Vi’s (minor) obsession walks past the fire station at a faster clip than normal. Which is sort of saying something, because Mystery Woman’s got legs for days, long and slender, visibly toned with long, lean muscle through her suit pants. At the faster clip, Vi has less time to admire her ass and tiny, tiny waist as she walks by, but that’s fine, because the view as she leaves is fantastic.

Caitlyn's route to work as a detective at the 51st Precinct takes her right by Fire Station #516, and Vi's been pining after the gorgeous Mystery Woman for six months...what will happen when she finds out that Caitlyn's a cop (AKA: The Enemy)?

“You’re not just my Ghost,” she says, voice tender as though she hadn’t been completely shutting him out. “We were friends, once. I want to know what you think.”
He feels anger, quick and hot. Joy and hope, unabashed. Selfishness also sneaks its way into his being, but neither emotion can decide who gets to take a seat. Everything is too much and not enough, so when he does speak, his voice is strained.
“I’m glad you asked,” he tries.

That one lengthy, emotional expansion on Universal Wavefunction that nobody asked for because these characters are absolutely lovely and that piece of lore was just too short for my liking. This is a story of friendship, hurt, loss and forgiveness; seen through the eyes of a loyal Ghost.
