“You think I’m scared of a couple petulant mercenaries?” Ghost joked roughly.
“No, sir,” Soap returned, sounding more grounded than before. “I know you better than that.”

“You’ve thought about whipping me with a belt?” Soap slurred slightly.
“Not entirely. I’ve thought about how to help you.” Help was an interesting word to use. “You’re too in your own head, right? Too overwhelmed with emotion.”
Soap nodded.
“I’m gonna hit you with this,” he gestured to the belt in his hands, “and maybe other objects if this isn’t enough. I don’t want you to count. I just want you to sit there and take it until I decide it’s over.”OR
