The Knights’ cloaks are the color of an open wound against the walls of the atelier, their pennants like exposed bones. They look at him like Olruggio has committed a crime he cannot remember. Maybe he has.
They do not tell him who Qifrey is, even when he asks. They do not tell him much of anything.
Olruggio thinks he can figure it out from the empty space.

“It’s Qifrey,” Olruggio snorts. “He probably got distracted by a passing—“
A clap of thunder sounds outside, illuminating the bridge with a burst of light, and Olruggio stops. His eyes flash to the window, as if he’s only just noticed the storm, and he goes very still. Then he rounds on them and demands, “How long has it been raining?”
It's storming outside, and Qifrey hasn't come home.

Summary
Oruggio’s hand tightens around Qifrey’s. The silver haired man startles noticeably in his grip. “Tell me you’re not planning anything stupid. Promise me you won’t let this go too far.”
Oruggio says and does nothing to control the urgency in his voice. To anyone else, it might seem like he is trying to threaten the man into compliance. Those who know Oruggio will be able to tell that he’s downright terrified of losing his husband.
(Or; Oruggio does some investigating and scheming of his own and sets out to save his husband from himself)
