Summary
There are days, Raph notices, when his Pops can't get out of his armchair and time passes him by in a daze, and it worries him a lot. Even from a very young age. Who is going to look out for his little brothers?
Raph steps in, practically no questions asked. He sees their Pops struggling and as the oldest, decides it’s his job to help whenever he can! He just… maybe would prefer it if the others didn’t know about Dad’s situation. Like, at all.
Cue Donnie: hungry for knowledge and attuned to the patterns of the family. So what does he do when he notices Dad’s absences growing more frequent, and stretching for longer periods of time? He finds out what’s happening, of course!
From then on, Raph and Donnie work together to keep Leo and Mikey in the dark about the severity of their dad’s state. But how long can they keep it up before everyone finds out just how much Raph and Donnie have taken over caretaking?
(a.k.a a 5+1 fic, where we see five times Raph and Donnie took care of Leo and Mikey because Splinter couldn't, and the one time they don't have to. Begins in their adolescent years and slowly progresses up to canon timeline.)

Summary
Two months after their final fight with the Shredder, the Hamato family is stretched thin. With their home recently destroyed, Leo's sudden 'promotion' to leader, and everyone trying to adjust to all the sudden change, tensions are unquestionably high.
They're particularly high between one red and one blue turtle--but this story ain't about them.
Read this brief peek into the goings-on of Mikey and Donnie as they try to find a reprieve from pointless arguments and an overwhelming workload by *shuffles and squints at papers* flying through the streets of New York City and vandalism? Yeah, that sounds about right.
A.k.a, Donnie and Mikey say "fuck it, we ball" and have a nice day filled with fun, comfort, and brotherly bonding with a dash of angst. Y'know, for a little dazzle.
