The result had been immediate, although Dick expected nothing less. Franziska was hurt. Maya was hurt. Juan Corrida was dead. Phoenix was traumatized. And Miles was distant.
He just wished that it wasn't so. He wanted things to go back to normal. Dick needed to reassure himself that nothing else would happen. He had to face his past, and end things for real. This time, he had to make sure no one else got hurt.

Summary
Ages ago, he would have pictured himself as a badass cop. searching through halls with his hand around his gun, looking for perps to catch and hostages to save, being admired as a legend once backup arrived.
But this was not a film, but the cold, harsh face of reality. No backup was coming, there was no weapon on his hands except for a rusty pipe, and he didn't feel cool, just pained and terrified. In this story, he is mortified and doesn't believe in a hopeful outcome. But he has to stay alive.
Prompt: Jake gets kidnapped and tortured by a perp while the squad tries to solve the case and save him.

Only the man isn't so ancient and wants nothing to do with the companion that was hired for him. But Eggsy needs the job and is determined to change Merlin's mind.

Summary
Gumshoe may not have had a soulmate himself, but he always liked the idea anyway. Some people were just so perfect for each other that the universe wrote it on their skin and brought them together. Discovering that the man he had fallen in love with had a soulmate didn't shake his belief, even if it broke his heart. But Edgeworth wasn't interested in his soulmate, and that just didn't make sense.

Summary

Gabriel was made a slave after his father died, serving his stepmother and stepbrothers. It's awful with no relief in sight as the poor omega is used for everything from household duties to warming his stepbrother's bed at night. The only bright spot in his life is his son, Everett, who he loves dearly despite hating how his son came to be.
One day, while at his lowest, he runs into the crown prince, Sam, who has just come home from war. Sam is supposed to be finding a mate from a noble family while Gabriel is just trying to do his best to survive all the abuse his 'family' heaps upon him.
