Summary
Four times in the Great Stories the Great Eagles come to save the day: To carry Fingon and Maedhros after a heroic rescue, to bear the (only mostly) dead body of Fingolfin away from Angband, to help a company of Dwarves in need and, of course, to save Frodo and Sam after the destruction of the One Ring.
What if by chance during all four of these rescues the Eagles hit an odd note in the music of Arda and they each end up at one of the others' intended destinations: The camp at Lake Mithrim gets Frodo and Sam. Aragorn and the Gondorian army get Fingon and Maedhros. Turgon gets some unexpected Dwarven visitors ...and Fingolfin is brought to the Eagles' eyrie?

On their return from Thargelion a messenger from Himlad meets Celegorm and Curufin, informing them that their long lost cousin Aredhel is visiting their lands. Celegorm speeds ahead to meet her. Meanwhile Curufin gets (totally! deliberately!) hopelessly lost and meets a strange elf.
