Alastor looks downward, finding Lucifer padding into the room wearing the form of a cat.
And as Alastor beholds his love in this small and non-threatening form (not that he’s very threatening as an angel, of course), he can’t help but wonder…
Lucifer’s jaw stretches wide as he yawns, kicking the door closed with a back paw, before shaking out his fur and getting ready to-
“Don’t change back.” The words are out before Alastor can stop them, causing him to wince. Fool, fool, fool.
Lucifer halts, looking up at Alastor with an odd expression, his head tilted on its side as he sits.
Or: Touch is hard for Alastor. Thankfully Lucifer stumbles upon an accidental solution after shape shifting into a cat

Lucifer’s brow furrows. “It doesn’t look like nothing. You really are burning up- and with the coughing and whatever else is going on-“
“I’m fine,” Alastor snaps. “I can handle myself.”
And he can. He always has. He’s always needed to. He won’t fail himself now. Not when he’s come so far.
But Lucifer merely offers him a soft, sad smile. “I know you can Al. But you don’t need to. Not anymore, anyway.”
Or: Alastor gets sick and hides himself away. Lucifer finds him (cue the comfort)

Summary
Vax gets sick for the first time, and Valentino and Vox immediately spiral into full parental panic. Velvette arrives to find two exhausted disasters, one overheated baby, and a situation that absolutely does not require the level of drama they’re giving it. Once the fever breaks, the little family collapses into a shaky, relieved cuddle pile. The next morning, Val thanks Velvette in the only way he knows how: with a gift so extravagant it borders on unhinged.

”C’mon Al, it’s been too long since you’ve slept-“ Lucifer braces his hands on the arm rests of his chair, preparing to stand, when suddenly Alastor pushes him back down into the cushion.
Lucifer sits with a thump, his brow raising in confusion. “Al?”
Alastor doesn’t reply. Instead, he turns and swiftly seats himself on the floor at Lucifer’s feet, his back pressed against Lucifer’s legs, his head leaning back onto his knees.
Well, this is new.
