Ratchet never got Pharma's hands, and he refused to replace his own with constructed ones. Not a single one of his friends could convince him.
Rodimus assigned the hardcase to Megatron out of spite, and everyone was waiting for him to fail spectacularly.
Little did they know, Megatron and Ratchet had history. (Spoiler alert: it did not help, at all.)
Between the spacebridge in his stomach, the Fool's Energon playing tricks with his processor, and a struggling path towards reform, Megatron really didn't have time for this.
