the entrance areas of the ice palace emptied out long ago. only a few volunteers with lanyards dart from one wing to another, and security lazily checks phones at the checkpoint. will's been hovering by the turnstiles for like twenty minutes, his nose tucked into the collar of a hoodie pulled up nearly to his eyes. it's cold in milan — not like home, but bearable for february. especially when you've shown up without a car, without credentials, and without any real plan except a stupid desperate need to see a specific canadian face.

When he had signed his employment contract in March 2021, Charles noticed that there was a specific clause in it that almost made him laugh, since it was really ridiculous.It was a non-fraternization clause: basically, it was forbidden in Sainz Motors to have romantic or sexual personal relationships between colleagues or between employees and superiors.
This was to avoid the rising of a confusing atmosphere which would not have led to full productivity and harmony in the company.

He could not have even imagined how much those lines would have tormented him in the following years... because he couldn't confess to Mr. Sainz his feelings for him for this very specific reason.
