Mark Bryant is not the only person to have been a victim of Damien, as he learns when he meets Jason Beck at Yale. When Mark reaches back out to Beck for the whole story, he ends up falling down a rabbit hole and learning a whole lot more about his former kidnapper than he would have liked. Meanwhile, Oliver is so busy trying to get his ability back to normal that he barely notices Mark spiraling. Can they come together to help one another?
Sequel to Is This How We Turn Out? but also mostly makes sense on its own

Summary
Oliver had never been good at emotions. His own or other people’s. He had gotten better over the years at saying the right things at the right times, but it didn’t come naturally to him like it seemed to for other people. He knew he got it wrong a lot and it made people think he was a dick, but at some point he had stopped caring what people thought. Except for Mark. When he had gotten into Boston from Europe it had surprised and scared him just how much he cared what Mark thought about him. So much so that he did what he always did when he was scared, and ran away. Which only made things worse. But Mark had followed him and saved him and continued to be there for him even after what he put Mark through. If he hadn’t had feelings for Mark before, he certainly did now. He had known for a long time, but had pushed it down over and over again. But when Mark kisses Oliver on the way back from Yale, he begins to realize that pushing down his feelings may be causing more problems than solving them.

Summary
Daniel Jacobi never really liked the phrase ‘time heals all wounds’. He hadn’t specialized in any kind of medicine, but he had gotten himself into enough scrapes to know that a wound left untreated was just as likely to fester as it was to heal. Wounds needed to be treated with tight stitches, stinging antiseptic, and bitter medicine. Healing, he’d found, meant pain. Maybe that was why he couldn’t help himself from continuing to frequent all of Kepler’s old favorite places, hoping and fearing in equal measure that he would run into the man who controlled his life for years. But even after months passed, Jacobi never saw him there. That didn’t stop him from trying.
Plus, grocery store meet-cutes, shiny new jobs where you don't murder anyone, and an abundance of fruit baskets.

Summary
A deleted scene from Gravity between Phoenix and Edgeworth. This was originally going to be in the main story but I decided it was too jarring to have a single short section from Phoenix's point of view, so you have it here.

Summary
The problem was this: Kepler wanted to be a part of Jacobi’s life. To be a part of it, yes, but not to own it.
“You’re not my commanding officer anymore, Warren,” Jacobi said when he came home. It was late and he was drunk, but not quite as late, not quite as drunk as he would’ve been once upon a time. “You’re not even my… You’re just my flatmate.”
Yeah. Yeah, okay.
AKA I don't like the "death as redemption" trope, so I decided Kepler needs to live with his mistakes.

Summary
Mark Bryant had known Oliver Ritz three years. Most of that time, they’d been apart. In fact, the last month had been the most time they’d ever spent together. And yes, they’d had magical artefacts and kidnappings and traumatised college students to deal with. Oh and weird time shit, let’s not forget the weird time shit.
But, see, the problem was this. He was utterly enthralled by Oliver Ritz. And not in a strictly platonic admiration kind of way. He definitely, absolutely, one hundred per cent wanted to rip his clothes off. Which, Mark thought, left him pretty much fucked, if he was being honest.

It’s been three years, and you think you’re doing better. You know you are. But when Oliver looks at you and you can just make out the glint in his eye, that first step into something more, a jolt of electricity runs up your spine like a static shock turned all the way up.

Summary
Blood is thicker than water.
Or: Klavier deals with the aftermath.
Klavier’s first memory of blood went a little like this: the turkey at the family dinner, the worn handle of the knife, and Kristoph’s brown hands.
In retrospect, it was those details that stuck out at him above all else—the family dinner, because it was the first and last of its kind, the worn handle of the knife because it made him think of how it looked like it was made for the grooves of Kristoph’s hands, and Kristoph’s hands because they moved in a way that made him think he was born for the kitchen, not the courtroom.
(Of course, as a child, it had slipped his mind that knives weren’t just used for cooking.)
