Summary
Sodapop wakes up angry.
Not angry at anyone, not even at anything—just that heavy kind of angry that sticks in your chest for no reason. The kind that makes the air feel wrong.
But there’s Ponyboy, warm and asleep, breathing easy like the world has never touched him. And somehow, just by being there, Pony makes the storm inside Soda go quiet.

Summary
It used to be the five of them, crammed into the old station wagon with tents, sleeping bags, and a cooler full of sandwiches. And to Darry’s point, it was tradition. Somewhere, he knew that going camping with his brothers was going to bring him closer to mom and dad.
This was supposed to be the first good thing since Mom and Dad died.
Unfortunately, things do not go according to plan and the Curtis bros are forced to make last minute adjustments to their traditions.Sicktember 2025 Prompts:

Summary
That night at dinner, he sees Soda and Darry watching him closely, like how you’d watch a glass you knocked over, teetering on the edge of a table. As if Ponyboy is going to shatter now that he can’t scribble out his pain onto every piece of paper in the house.
But he doesn’t shatter. For the first time in a long while, he feels… maybe not good, but okay. Like maybe, someday down the road, he could feel good again.

or, Ponyboy writes his theme, Darry reads it.

“I can’t even buy bread ‘cuz my check’s not comin’ in. What kind of brother am I?”
“A damn good one.” Soda affirms, voice unwavering, “One who kept us all together, who left everything behind for us. Who breaks his back to put a roof over our heads and food on the table.”
Darry and Pony have always loved each other - they just show it in ways that don't make a lot of sense to people. And in the aftermath of the fire, Pony starts to understand Darry's hiding a lot more than he says and Darry learns that love doesn't have to be so complicated.

Summary
Darry’s eyes fly open just as his baby brother collapses, and all of a sudden, he’s running in slow-motion, trying in vain to close the distance between him and Ponyboy before the kid hits the concrete. Two-Bit makes it there first, catches him before he can get banged up any worse, and by the time Darry’s beside them, Two’s got Pony close to his chest, cradling his head in his arms.
“He’s sick,” Two-Bit’s saying when Darry and Soda kneel down next to them. “Shit, he was—he was running a fever before the rumble but he made me swear I wouldn’t tell ya, so I—”
“Ponyboy,” says Soda, reaching out to shake his brother’s shoulder. “Pony, honey, wake up.” Darry puts a palm to Pony’s forehead and finds that Two’s right; the kid’s burning with fever.

“Then what was that about Texas?”
“Don’t know where the fuzz got a crazy idea like that,” Dallas says, shrugging again. There’s far too much amusement in his eyes. “Like I said before, I don’t know anything about it—but I bet those kids are fine. Safe, you get me?”
As frustrating as it is, Darrel knows he’s lucky to even get that much out of Dallas. Usually, Dallas’ ability to keep his trap shut is a good thing—but today it’s all Darrel can do not to punch him square in the jaw.
Or, Dallas gives Darrel a blowjob rather than admit he helped Ponyboy and Johnny flee town.

"I don’t know what you're getting at," Two-Bit answered, eyes averted and fiddling with the hem of his shirt.
"Don't lie to me, Two-Bit," Dally growled, approaching him. "What do you know?"
"I don’t – "
He yelped as Dally suddenly yanked him off the sofa and had him pinned to the floor in seconds.
"Two-Bit?"
"Yes, Dally?"
"I’m only gonna ask nicely once. After that, I will personally hand you ya ass on a silver platter. So tell me. Where. Is. Darry?"Or: Dally 'convinces' Two-Bit to spill the secret he knows about Darry. Dally has a bone or two to pick with the eldest Curtis once he finds out.

"Why did you ask us for our thoughts in the first place?"
Pony starts to laugh nervously, "Yeah, about that." Now, they're curious. What the hell? "Y'know that situation I said was purely hypothetical? Well...it may not be as hypothetical as I said it was."
"What?" the other six all ask, simultaneously.
"Sorry, I can't explain it right now! I have to get to school!" Pony says quickly, already halfway out the door.
AKA: Ponyboy's theme gains a lot more popularity that the author himself expected.

I swallowed a lump in my throat, "He is alive." I felt like crying, but I willed myself not to. "I thought he died."
I felt Sodapop's hand on my shoulder, a gesture meant to comfort me, "He did die, honey. It was a close call."

Summary
“Darrel startles awake with an awful feeling in his gut.
He thinks, for a second, that he must’ve had a nightmare, but his mind is blank and his heart is slow, no sweat - cold or otherwise - on him. There’s none of the usual fresh images in his head that come with his bad dreams, images of loss and helplessness and violence. So, naturally, his next thought is that it’s Ponyboy.Darry makes to drag himself out of bed, intent on silently padding to loiter outside his brothers’ room like he sometimes does - just to check on them, to know they’re okay - when his sleep-addled brain catches onto the fact that down the hall it’s all quiet and dark, and the shallow, uneven breathing is right behind him in his bed.
Dallas is crying.”
Dally has a nightmare about his mother’s death. Thankfully, Darry’s pretty well-versed in dealing with those.
