Because I couldn't stop laughing after "Latent Image" at the thought of Janeway reading Dante's masterpiece about chaste, spiritual love, I had to corrupt her a little.

Tuvok is never assigned to spy on the Maquis. Because of his absence, the Val Jean isn’t pulled into the Delta Quadrant in 2371, and Voyager remains at the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards.
Two years later, rumors emerge that the Maquis are developing biogenic weapons. Summary
He and Kathryn reacted very differently to difficult days. Days like this made Chakotay feel like he would give anything to have the pressure of command taken away from him, they made him feel like he needed to be given something he could succeed at to remember his own worth, they made him feel like he needed all that responsibility to be taken away so that he could breathe again.
Kathryn was different, on days when Kathryn felt like she was in a spiral, when she felt certain that they were going to lose their ship and everyone on it, when survival seemed hinged on luck more than wit, when everything had gone wrong; on those days - these days -, Kathryn needed to feel like she was in control.
