There is no God in Heaven. There is no Hellfire awaiting him. Eternal damnation did not come from the muzzle of his gun pressed up against that little girl's forehead. It did not come from the tang of iron against his tongue as he bit through the flesh of another man's neck. It was not in the buzz of his ears, where the masses have crooned legacy, legacy unto him as soon as he could walk. There was a seat that needed to be freed to sit upon America's throne and it would be theirs, regardless of the cost.
He closed his eyes, and saw the most beautiful shades of teal and sour green.
Grant shuddered, opened his eyes. Jason slept peacefully curled into his arms.
Damned, Grant thought. Eternally damned.

"You like them?" Grant asked with an amused grin. Even if Jason's starstruck expression and huge eyes were just enough of evidence.
Jason doesn't respond for a moment. He's still looking at the flowers like they're gonna grow fangs and bite him; which to be fair, they are in Gotham but Grant did a double take on getting flowers with enough man-made material to not be influenced by Poison Ivy's abilities. The real trick was choosing a bouquet he thought Jason would enjoy looking at, hopefully he sees the beauty he sees on Jason in it.
Grant can't bring himself to put all this out there in the wind for Jason to hear, he hopes the flowers do the work for him until he gathers the courage.
"Yeah," Jason admits, voice unexpectedly soft. He doesn't tear his eyes of the bouquet for a second. Grant feels oddly proud about it.
Or: A Five times Jason received a gift from a significant other and Can't Process It.
