Michael had always been a firebug.
From the moment sentience struck him, the eldest Afton had made known his unnatural affinity for flames. Captivated by the dancing wicks of candles and the crackling roar of their eternal fireplace, he’d sit for hours on end and simply watch the tango swaying and swerving before his very eyes…bright, lively, and impossibly breathtaking. Candle wax would be gutted under a flame’s burn and logs would be snapped amidst untamed conflagrations.

With all of infinite knowledge and a god's power at his disposal, Derek realizes how to warn Avery in time.
He lands in the alternate dimension of a Minecraft universe, name-tagged d3rLord3, in the mouth of those damned mines. Right in front of a slime hybrid about to turn left.
(There is no book that greets TheMostMayo in the mines when he enters, pickaxe ready for shiny rocks. Instead, he finds in his way a human dressed in the armor of a knight, but who claims to be an oracle and who stinks like an Admin.
Except there's something about this magic. It smells older. Much older.) -

THIS IS TOP 5 BEST THINGS. THIS IS SO FUNNY I COULD NOT *STOP* LAUGHING I FRICKING LOVE THIS FIC.
An extraordinary change had come over his face. It was writhing with inward merriment. His two eyes were shining like stars, their brilliance and beauty so great that they would soon hold not only me, but all the representatives of the police in sway. How could we think of reason or logic while those piercing grey depths gazed at us, full of such amusement at our inability to see what they had seen? Indeed, if I may confess, I entirely missed Holmes’ entire explanation of his deductions, for I was far too dazzled by the glittering of his eyes and the exquisite showmanship of his tricks to pay any attention to the evidence whatsoever.
