Eddie launches into him, putting a hand over his mouth. They're covered in sawdust and dirt and pollen and all intertwined like how they should be. Richie’s glasses go up and his eyes go wide. He keeps talking, even though Eddie is fully on top of him and every word is muffled into his palm.“Jesus, I’m never gonna hear the end of this,” Eddie complains, while the Losers laugh behind them.
Their laughter and chattering become background noise as he notices Richie stopped trying to talk, and his eyes were softened. Full and brown and tender. He realized he gave Richie what he wanted. His knee between Richie’s legs, a hand on his mouth, and the other tight on his wrist. Their legs brush together, warm and achy.
