There’s a basilisk in the pipes that could really use lessons on how to be a predator, Harry’s Great-Grandpa Arcturus is insisting that he follow boring things like “rules,” and the Albus man is still trying to stop Harry happening to everyone he meets. Meanwhile, Grimmauld Place is trying to teach Malfoy Manor to be a better sentient house.

I've turned this work into a series because I've realised it made more sense than keeping to one huge work.
The first installation focuses on the summer of Year 4 and the murder mystery. The part featuring the actual school year will come after and there will be a few one shots in the middle.

At eight years old, the strange splotch of color on Harry's arm transforms into a skull with a snake curled around it. That alone would be odd enough to make Harry a strange, freakish boy.
But then the snake begins to speak.
Following his soul mark's guidance, Harry abandons the world he grew up in for the new, fantastic world of magic. He imagines a future with his soulmate, one filled with wonderous magic, food and clothing aplenty, and, most importantly, a large, loving family.
He just needs to find his soulmate and have him get with the program. It can't be that hard, can it?

Almost as useless as the Ministry, who have gotten their claws into Hogwarts, ignoring Voldemort’s return and forcing Harry further and further into the political spotlight (something Theo seems to enjoy too much for Harry’s liking). But things can only get better from here, right?
