“His sister is definitely favored by the Fire Lord,” Sokka says irritably. “She was his guard during the Eclipse. And she's incredibly loyal, just like Zuko is. That is, was.”
“No wonder, with that name,” Katara mutters. “What else would you expect from siblings named after the Fire Prince and Princess?”
In which everything stays the same, apart from the fact that the Gaang doesn’t realize their local firebender is actually Prince Zuko until coronation day.

"Seventeen," Zuko corrected Sokka, his sudden interruption startling the others.
"Wait, what do you mean, seventeen?" Sokka asked, shock evident in his face. "I asked you last week how old you were, and you said sixteen." Zuko rolled his eyes. "It was true last week." He huffed, scowling. "What? Zuko, you're not making any sense." Sokka complained, getting frustrated. Talking to Zuko was impossible. He either dumped his whole life story or talked in riddles! This time, he chose the latter option.
Aang suddenly spoke up then as he connected the dots. "Wait, we missed your birthday?" He asked, his voice small. "Why didn't you say anything?"Or

As someone who has often not realized quite how traumatic my life events are, Zuko's calm retelling and recounting of his near-death experiences and worst traumas is absolutely believable. People freak out at just the basic facts of life for me. I am slowly learning how normal works and it's weird.
