“Hello, Kate Bishop.” Yelena purrs out in a low and gravelly tone, accent curling around the words like a tongue twister.
Kate swallows (probably in nerves, right?)
“Yelena.” Kate greets curtly, blue eyes still narrowed on the girl in front of her as if scared she’ll pounce.
“Nice ring.” Yelena says, shooting her a wink before she turns way from Kate to face the crowd again, and Kate decides to do the same.

Yelena comments to me with a slight smirk, accent lacing all the words in her sentence deliciously sweet. I guffaw a bit at that, my mouth open a bit before I let it settle into a cocky smirk as I look down at her with a challenging gaze.
“And you’re petite like Goldilocks from the bedtime story.”
I retort straight back at her, speaking confidently as I stare down at her with a knowing look on my face. Her eyebrows and nose scrunch up as she looks at me with an offended look before she decided to just pinch my arm.
“Ow!”
I hiss out, clutching the piece of forearm she pinched and shielding it like some prized possession.
“Skyscrapers cannot do that.”
Yelena throws back at me, grinning broadly before she struts away and I’m left to follow her like a hopeless little puppy trailing behind its owner. -
