It never really bothered Homelander that he couldn’t have children. When Vogelbaum had told him, Homelander's reaction had been something like, "And…?" Because really, what was he going to do with a kid? Watch it cry?
But when he heard that he'd gotten Becca Butcher pregnant, and that his son had died chocking on his mother's blood, he found a sickly feeling wind it's way inside of him. He wasn't pleased, or grateful that the child had died. He was disappointed, he was mad. -

[COMPLETE] Homelander is really, really intent on having a child. Like, scarily intent.
Canon divergence where Ryan dies in the season 3 finale and the story sharply veers from canon from there. Homelander becomes desperate to have another child, but nothing works until he modifies his body to carry it himself. He asks the man who’s also lived through the trauma of losing Ryan for help with that noble mission. “Asks” is a nice way of putting it. Billy Butcher has many misgivings about having a child with Homelander, but hopes to use the situation to try and pry Homelander out of Vought.
Neither one of them foresees what they’re really getting themselves into. -
