Summary
The age of gods and adepti is over — that's what their lord had said. As Xiao struggles to find his place in this new era, a wayward prayer from the young exorcist Chongyun ends up pulling him into a case that nearly proves to be his undoing, a strange domain that lures people in with illusions of their loved ones.
Confronted with everyone he has lost over his long life, Xiao is narrowly rescued from a fatal karmic debt episode by Chongyun and Xingqiu. Determined to uncover the origin and purpose behind this strange domain, he reluctantly agrees to team up with the two boys on their investigations.
Or: Xiao's Very Bad, No Good Babysitting Adventure, only it turns out that being around mortal children is very good for one's soul.

Surprised by the sudden and completely unsolicited comment, Xiangling looks up from her wok, tracing her father's eye to said Mr. Zhongli, leaning over an antique vase at one of the roadside stores. In her time at Wanmin Restaurant, however, she has certainly seen her fair share of strange customers, so after a moment, she just turns back to her frying, flipping the xianbing in the wok over one by one.
"Why do you say that?" she asks, reaching across the counter for the cooking oil.
"Dearest daughter," Chef Mao says then, "he is lecturing the seller on the origins of his own vase."
Liyue Harbor is hive full of incorrigible gossips. Xiangling navigates the rumor mill, goes ingredient hunting with Zhongli, and in the process, finds out that Zhongli is very, very bad at pretending to be human.

Inside the tower, there’s a heap of something on the floor that Jean quickly realises are feathers— wings in fact, large and white.
Frantic, she immediately crouches. As she does so, however, Venti finally stirs. When he next opens his eyes, looking at her, his eyes immediately widen. Then, in a too-small, too-uncertain voice, raspy and shaky, he whispers—
“Gunnhildr?”
Venti gets de-aged after a close call with Decarabian's god remains in Old Mondstadt. Jean (and others) care for him in the aftermath. In the process, Jean walks the same steps and reconnects with her ancestor before her.
This fic was written as part of the Drunk Twink Summer Exchange and updates every two weeks.
