Summary
Two years Post-Mass Cure, Providence has been transformed into a global organization similar to Interpol still helmed by White Knight. Even with the nanites deactivated, there are rogue scientists who seek to reactivate them for their own ends or other dangerous experiments. Not to mention the Consortium and the Pack are still around. Even more importantly, the nanites aren't likely to naturally deteriorate until long after Rex is dead, so a cure that doesn't rely on him or the Meta-Nanites is still in development in case someone actually manages to fully reactivate the nanites, not just Van Kleiss forcing someone to go EVO.
As a sign to the world that the threat has truly passed, White Knight breaks quarantine and re-infects himself. Between various threats and busy schedules, life continues on with all its weird mundane twists and turns.

In which Bubble is the second AI, knows he has a brother in Caine, and while the humans want him to make them a digital afterlife Bubble's only really interested in his brother. Rescuing Caine from the cellar makes the system register him as a human user-- bound to all the same restrictions as them.
Bubble will make the humans their heaven, but only so his brother is happy

"Thanks, Caine," Kinger says, sounding completely and annoyingly sincere. "I think I will."
Kinger successfully puts Caine to sleep in order to fix him. The only problem is, Kinger has no idea how to "fix" him and Caine's not technically asleep.

Pomni's words were playing though Caine's mind in an agonizing loop. In any other circumstances, he'd be able to erase that thought. Loan then to Bubble permanently, keep going on as intended.
But this was not his Bubble.
This was not his circus.
Yet, these were his humans.
They didn't remember him. They did not know he was an ai. They had just come back from the Candy Canyon Kingdom.
Why was this happening?
"You just! Don't! LISTEN!"
He could win their favor.
He could win their love, and affection.
He had to.
He had nothing left but this second chance.
And, ideally, he'd do it WITHOUT making himself a horrible, cruel monster that no one loved in the process.
"You just! Don't! LISTEN!"
... Fine.
If listening was what it took...
Then Caine would listen.
He would be the best at it.

Summary
Kinger, the new combined sciences teacher, starts to see that Caine, the creative literature teacher, is being treated pretty poorly by the others.
What he initially thought as a simple work place conflict turns out to be something much worse.
Little does he know that Caine is struggling more then any of them truly know, or might even care to know.
He plans to help Caine learn his worth, by any means necessary.(And maybe fall in love with him along the way)
