Summary
The siege of Barad-dûr has lasted for years, and Gil-galad is tired of war. Every day the same as the other; dark and desperate and despondent. Then a man appears, foreign and fair, in the dry wastes of Mordor. He says no words they understand, is certainly not dressed for a battle. So they take him captive, and watch and wait.
Gil-galad watches more than most. He finds he does not wish to stop.

Summary
Artanis, Princess of the Noldor had no intentions of marriage, content in her life amongst the walls of Tirion. But that all changes when she is summoned to Máhanaxar to be used as a bargaining chip and punishment for one corrupted Maia.
She must marry the one they called Sauron in order to help prove that he seeks redemption truthfully. But that's not what she fears the most—it's her intense attraction to the corrupted Maia. A being wrapped in so much mystery and darkness turns out to be tender and kind beneath the shadows that haunt him. Over time Artanis begins to question herself and her morals as she grows undeniably closer to the Maia. But one lingering thought remains, she can't help but ever wonder why he even chose her in the first place.

Summary
To call his relationship with his ‘father’ ‚complicated‘, was an understatement. Math problems were complicated, writing an essay in French or Mandarin was complicated, trying to understand the universe with every single galaxy in it was complicated- but it was possible to solve math, finish the paper and gather enough knowledge to understand. So Legolas decided not to describe the parent-child relationship as simply ‘complicated’, but instead as utterly and entirely shattered/ruined.
- After the death of his mother Legolas stays with his step father Thranduil, even though their relationship is more than complicated. He isn't sure if it turns things for the better or worst, as he realizes that he hates Thranduil with a burning passion, and where there's passion there is often more.

Summary
Her earliest memory was that of being cradled in her father’s arms, staring up at the pretty golden light of Laurelin. The Two Trees were mesmerizing to the little girl, but what she remembered most was the adoration in the glowing silver-gray gaze of her atar.
He loved her, her atya.
They all did.

Summary
Some of the Sindar at court who had once lived in Doriath claimed that Elrond and Elros Eärendilion were the very image of Lúthien.
Yet it was not that beauty which held Ereinion's gaze.
It was the understanding he saw in the other Elf's eyes.
He could not have said exactly what Elrond understood—perhaps Elrond himself did not know—but Ereinion knew that the Elf standing before him had seen and understood a part of him that no one else ever had.
During the duel, a barrier between them had dissolved, one they ordinarily kept firmly in place. They had caught a glimpse of something in each other that was usually hidden, and in doing so had found an understanding unlike anything Ereinion had ever shared with another soul.
Whenever, over the millennia that followed, Ereinion looked back upon that morning, he was grateful that he had not simply slipped away again beneath the cover of the tents.
Had he done so, he might never have forged the friendship that would shape the rest of his life.
