Summary
“If we’re talking about this right now, how do we know we haven’t done this before?”
Maybe we have done all of this before. Maybe we’re supposed to do this forever.
Over and over, again and again. Bloodshed, kindness. Anger, empathy.
Countless lives and countless worlds have faded as Hero and Princess repeat the cycle, desperately propping up a “world” where neither the Shifting Mound nor the Narrator win. But the construct was designed with a swift conclusion in mind.
The rules are slipping, wearing down from dozens of choices made within and against them.
What will break first: the construct, or the Long Quiet?

Summary
The Hero stands at the final staircase, breathing heavily and looking exhausted. His once beautiful and gleaming armor is broken, even shattered in places, the fine edge of his sword cracked. He had fought his way down this dungeon, slaughtering all the monsters and beasts that guarded the way to the inner sanctum.
The horrors along the way were many and multitude.
Many, multitude, and familiar.
He's been here before, done this before...Is the Princess before him truly his enemy?
Or is it the one who sent him down here in the first place?

Summary
The Hero attempts to do as told and goes into the basement to slay the princess. But as soon as they get down there, their nerves get the better of them and the stress of all the options and the responsibility they carry becomes too much.
But, surprisingly, the princess seems to be a lot more understanding of this than anticipated.
This leads to an entirely new perspective, one that seems a lot more... Pleasant.
(Made into two chapters to mimic the game. Experimenting a little.)
