Summary
There is a little boy who comes to her garden, these days. He is not a Gotham native- doesn’t smell like the smoke and pollution she detests. He smells like the sea. Like the rolling tide. Like what Gotham used to be, long before it was a city. And he smells like an old book, of yarn and wooden knitting sticks.
His hair is pitch-black, but reflects the sun in such a way that makes it look deep blue, not unlike the deep waters.
And there is a little girl who comes with him. She runs hot, but not the kind that will burn her or her plants. She smells like campfire smoke, the good kind. Like metals found below the Earth, undisturbed. Like a warmth that she is unfamiliar with.
Her hair is wild, and curly, and untamed, like a ball of vines, and her eyes look like the amber in a tree.They aren't entirely human, but neither is she. They are respectful, and they are perfect.
