Summary
Dean Winchester works at the "Family Business" pawn shop, founded by his father. He also is one of the main cast members of a popular reality show that follows amazing items brought in by clients. Dean is openly bisexual but struggles in connecting with men. He tries a relationship with Benny, but even though they have a good time together, things fall short in other departments. Regardless, Dean is still disappointed when it ends. Castiel Novak agrees to work as a consultant for the "Family Business" pawn shop. He’s looking to save up some money to help his brother, Gabriel, with his newly opened bakery. When Castiel walks inside the pawn shop, Dean Winchester's world stops. Castiel wrongly assumes Dean is a homophobe. Dean wrongly assumes Castiel couldn't possibly find him interesting.

Summary
Castiel confesses his love to Dean just before he has to move away for college. Dean's lack of a reaction makes Cas believe that Dean just doesn't feel the same way so he leaves. Thinking it's for the best to push Dean out of his life.
Fast forward five years and Cas is back in town for his Dad's funeral. Dean's reaction is to run to Cas - hoping to finally say the words that he never got the chance to say all those years ago - but a ring on Cas's finger halts Dean's plan completely.
