Summary
There is nothing now that Gaara, the man, can do to heal the wounds caused by Gaara, the monster. He cannot bring murdered villagers back from the dead. He cannot un-traumatize the children he terrorized in his youth. He cannot even repair the desert ecosystem that he disrupted during his massive, sand-filled rages. All he can do is be a safe harbor - level, and steady, and reliable as the sunrise - for his village, for his family, and for his friends.

Summary

Sunagakure is a village steeped in and bound by oft-archaic tradition. With a proud and well-documented lineage of only biologically male Kazekage, Gaara could not possibly be caught having his own child, especially not one fathered by a Leaf-nin.
So when a clandestine relationship has unforeseen consequences, and the tide of war rises again, Lee and Gaara are forced to learn painful lessons in responsibility, making choices, and the meaning of unconditional love.
