Summary
Mihawk didn't take well to other's routines, neither following them nor creating them. It was why he manned no crew, why his ship sat only one, why the castle he chose to inhabit had no maids nor servants nor company of any kind. He couldn't bother.
Perona and Zoro had been his only company, during their brief stay. There was no one else—not since the last time Shanks had invited himself in, at least.
--
Or: Mihawk has no qualms with facing consequences of his own actions. He has no regrets. In turn, he doesn't expect second chances, but Mihawk's expectations have never stopped Shanks in the first place.

Summary
“Get out. I’m already tired of telling you. Go back to the Grand Goth Hotel. Better yet, leave Mondstadt altogether.” Diluc is tired of telling him, tired from the very idea of how much more so he’s going to have to say so, and already so, so tired of looking at this gingered menace grin in retaliation. He knows the kind.
“Twice, that’s all you have in you?” The diplomat—too kind of a way to refer to him, in Diluc’s opinion, though he certainly won’t be asking for his name—leans back, crosses his arms, and grins even more. Already so predictable. “What a boring way of tiring yourself out. I can think of better, comrade.
--
Diluc works the bar at Angel’s Share every Friday night. When a Fatui diplomat starts showing up, determined to get to know Mondstadt’s most fiery and unrelenting bartender, Diluc struggles to acknowledge that Fatui are people in their own right, with their own thoughts and drives. Where Childe seems determined to get to know Diluc, Diluc is trying to pack away his internal monologue and remind himself that this is it: this is the life he was given, and this is the life he deserves. He does not get to want for things.Least of all for a pretty Snezhnayan diplomat.

Summary
“You’re more restless tonight.”
He tries not to turn and look at some of the overly-familiar scars adorning Diluc’s skin as he speaks. “I didn’t mean to wake you. Just lost in thought.”
Diluc’s refute is near instant, even while sleep remains in arm’s reach: “That’s unusual for you.”
Often, the tenderness that comes from a dark sky is softer with Diluc. More hesitant. Childe tends to guide his hands in the dark, remind him that he's allowed to hold on for the entirety of the evening. Drags Diluc's fingers up to Childe's own cheeks, or across his wrist to feel his pulse. No, mornings are not their only moment of rest. Every moment they have alone is precious, tucked away somewhere safe in Childe's heart, behind his ribcage and his flesh. It’s simply that dawn carries hope in it’s open, generous palms, while nightfall nurses feelings to fruition indiscriminately—and tonight in particular, as Childe stares out at Mondstadt through Diluc's windows, he thinks on how none of what he sees is actually his.

Summary
Sokka does a shitty k turn in the parking lot across from the bus station, pulls up to the curb where the boy is looking determinedly at his phone, and rolls down the passenger window. “Hey! Which way were you going?” He may die, but at least his conscience will be clear.
The guy blinks at him.
“Don’t.”
Oh, he’s prickly.

Or: the hitchhiker au, featuring Sokka and Zuko falling in love without even realizing it.

Summary
He takes things, barters with coin, fills his satchel each and every time he leaves his own waters. Sometimes he has things for the fox spirit, sometimes he does not. It’s harder for Sokka to offer him gifts. His friend lives amongst the humans’ trees, amongst their grounds. It’s something of a shared world between the two, respect for safekeeping. The humans live in peace, and in return the spirit guides them through. Anything that Sokka could offer him, he could ask for from the locals.
Except, that is, for things found on the ocean floor. Things that can’t be replicated, produced by the ocean and the ocean alone.
And Sokka is something of an expert in that.

Summary
Kakashi blinked an eye open to survey Yamato through the steam. He found the younger man watching him right back. The comment had stirred something in him. A reminder that Yamato (Tenzō, Kinoe, whoever) knew him. Knew him well. It was something Kakashi had missed without realizing it was gone until now. It made the contented smile on his face widen just a fraction.

Summary
“Hey.” A smirk twisted Kid’s face. He jabbed Law in the ribs. “Look who came,” he jeered.
He jerked his head toward the crowd, and Law followed the vague direction of his attention and saw a distractingly familiar head of blond hair.
“Fuck,” he gritted out, then kicked Kid’s shin. “Don’t make it weird.”
“Don’t fuck up again,” Kid spat back.
