Summary
Concern sparked through Tenna. When he caught side of her face, it magnified tenfold.
Susie looked awful.
The bags under her eyes, usually more stylist choice than anything, seem dark enough to bruise. Her eyes were bloodshot, streaked red and glassy. Her outfit, literally magic itself, was disheveled to the point of rags.
His heart broke when she raised a hand to wave, because that hand was shaking.

The little rat creature retrieved Tenna, because one of his favorite Lightners just doesn't know when to quit training.
Tenna may not have a magical fix for everything, but he's going to make it work.
Susie deserves the world. He can at least give her a movie.

Summary
Tenna could hear the kitchen. The clatter of plates. The deep rumble of Asgore’s voice, rising—then flattening into something hoarse. Toriel’s sharper. Less like a yell, more like a scab picked sore too many times. Kris would wander in, shoulders stiff, and press their cheek to the static. Sometimes, if the TV was warm from recent use, the glass would fog. They’d breathe slow. Not watching anything. Just being close.
He’d glow soft blue beneath them. He always kept his volume low. Just enough to give them something steady. He thought of himself, in those times, as a nightlight. Something for a scared kid to feel near when they didn’t want to cry.
And then, sometimes, Kris would draw.
Little stick figures with marker right on the screen. Green for themselves. Brown for Noelle. Big loopy lines for antlers. Red for Dess. a big triangle with gashing spikes . Toriel would scold them gently when she caught them, but she never got angry. She’d say, “Markers are for paper,” and Kris would shrug and say “Okay,” and do it again next week.

“I’m looking at the old GAR databases.” Tech forced his tone out even and unaffected. “Reg manuals.”
That made Echo snort. “Surprised you haven’t memorized those already.”
“Unnecessary. Our situation in the field was hardly regular,” Tech sniffed, and almost immediately regretted his tone by how it made Echo blink, frowning a little. It wasn’t Echo’s fault that he was feeling poorly, and he knew from previous conversations that reading the reg manuals was how Echo used to unwind between missions with his old squad.
“I’m looking into information on the Separatists,” Tech added in a more conciliatory tone.
By Echo’s small frown, it had the opposite effect. “That old man got to you,” he said.
