Shen Jiu growled, wrenching out of Qiu Jianluo’s grip to hurl an ink stone at him. He missed.
Shen Jiu saw the change in Qiu Jianluo’s face instantly, the man’s hand rising up and blocking out the glow of candlelight. His towering shadow was Qiong Qi given flesh.
Shen Jiu’s body froze instinctively as he readied himself for a blow.
But it never came, because when Shen Jiu managed to look up, all he could see was a man’s broad back swathed in black robes, his grip tight around Qiu Jianluo’s wrist.
“Qiu-gongzi, what could ever make you think that a charlatan like me wouldn’t want this boy as his disciple?”

His compatibility is barely high enough to survive.The System refuses to tell him where he is until his soul and body are stable enough to handle the answer. Shen Yuan thinks this is deeply suspicious.
He is right.
Because the world is Proud Immortal Demon Way, the plot has not even begun yet, and Shen Yuan has no intention of letting bad writing become destiny.

Logically, walking into Huan Hua would be a stupid move. The kind that could throw him directly into the speeding bullet train of the actual plot, and worse, the stampeding path of one Post-Abyss Luo Binghe.
But he refuses to let his one moment of justice—true justice—be steamrolled over and credited to the scum villain. No way.

Before the investigation in Jinlan City, Shen Qingqiu is hit by a curse that forces him to speak his mind. Unfortunately, this means that the first thing he does when he sees Luo Binghe for the first time in three years is to tell Luo Binghe that he's grown up to be really quite pretty.
Luo Binghe, not sure what's going on but absolutely enjoying the ride, abandons all his plans immediately. He has new priorities now, including but not limited to:
