A choked, breathless sob cut off the recording, followed by the sharp, electronic beep of a disconnected line. The secret basement fell dead silent again. Draco froze. He knew he should drop the device into the disposal chute. He knew it was a grotesque, illegal invasion of her privacy. But his thumb was already moving over the rubber keys, desperate to hear her private thoughts once more.

The Knights, all of whom go by code names and operate in the shadows, carry out their orders with deadly precision. They do not usually play bodyguard to other witches and wizards.
Hermione is the exception. Draco is tasked with keeping Hermione alive, protecting her from what seems to be a muggle army. Or zombies. They're not exactly sure. Only, Hermione has no idea who is behind the mask. All she knows is that a Knight has been sent to her flat, H3. And she's stuck with him.

It was entirely innocent. Really.
He didn’t even notice how he was positioned; lying in between those (long, long) legs with Daniel’s hands clutching at his shoulders uselessly in an attempt to push him off. The younger’s man’s head was tilted back into the couch they cramped into, the lean, unblemished neck brushing against Merritt’s fingers as he trailed his hands further up to where Daniel was most ticklish. Evidently enough, neither of them realised- not Daniel who’s eyes were closed and lips (full, ridiculously inviting) lips parted in laughter- nor Merritt, who’s hands fit perfectly on those narrow hips or that lithe waist- how compromising their position was.
Or, the one where on thing leads to another and lots of "stuff" happens.

After many months of self-denial, Hermione receives an envelope of explicit photos of her and a one night stand she had four months earlier.
She could have ignored what seeing those photos made her feel, but the vile message attached that threatened to leak the photos to the press was the catalyst to accept the truth. Hermione has a stalker.
Her reputation had struggled in the last year, as well as some of her confidence.
When she seek's Harry’s advice, it is sad, but honest. The ministry is in turmoil as crime is on the rise and targeted muggleborn attacks are spreading. Harry suggests hiring a private investigation firm that he's worked with in the past and Hermione reluctantly agrees.
The P.I. handling her case is, none other than Draco Malfoy, the man in the photos from her one night stand.
As their path takes sharper and darker turns, Hermione and Draco have to risk their own secrets coming forth to keep each other and the rest of the ones they love safe.
