Their anniversary is approaching, and Astarion is frustrated with Gale’s lack of response to his attempts to swap their typical bedroom roles. It would probably help if Astarion actually said any of this out loud.
“Astarion? What- where are you going? Is something wrong?” Gale calls after him, voice full of soft concern.
“I’m fine, I just…need to work on something.” Astarion’s sure Gale can tell he’s not entirely telling the truth, but Gale rarely presses him. Normally he’d appreciate this, but today he just feels vaguely bad about his inability to communicate. It shouldn’t be this hard to just ask for what he wants, but embarrassment and fear of rejection are a potent combination.
