Urahara is but a humble farmer-turned-alchemist in the Eastern Valleys, with a thirst for knowledge and vague, foggy dreams that feel like memories. He makes many creations, and as his name slowly spreads, he makes many more – but he is always drawn to dazzling fireworks that paint the night the colour of the sunset. He is not sure why, but it feels like reparations. It feels like a prayer. It feels like a message. Maybe, just maybe, he’ll get a response.
The memories of Urahara’s past life and all he had there haunts him, but not in any way he can recognize. Luckily, it still works out.

Summary
Three days into his permanent relocation to Seireitei and sudden Captaincy of the Third Division, and Ichigo suddenly finds out that shinigami and humans really aren't the same at all. For one, there are three different dynamics within the overall male-female genders. Second, there are a bunch of societal conventions he hasn't been following and now must learn to deal with. And third, he doesn't really agree with the common prejudices about any of the dynamics. At all.
And then his scowling, aggressive, adorable little spitfire of a boyfriend, the one and only Hitsugaya Toushiro, presents as an Omega - the first captain to do so in Seireitei's history.
Ichigo almost has to laugh at the irony.

“Kurosaki-sama!” they shout, and Ichigo splutters. What the actual fuck.
“Who the fuck are you calling ‘sama’ you bastards! Get out of here already!” Ichigo grouses, kicking the nearest one in the side for effect.
The man he’s kicked, a bulky bald man probably like 20 years old or something—he’s bad at ages, it comes with the territory of being surrounded by ghosts and shinigami so often—groans but he keeps his eyes locked on Ichigo and he doesn’t stop grinning and it looks like there are fucking stars in this guys eyes. Seriously. What. The. Fuck.
“Our boss wants to meet you, Kurosaki-sama!” another of the thugs shouts.
“Hah?” Ichigo runs a hand through his hair roughly. “I’m not going to meet your fucking boss, you idiots. Stop causing trouble around here and leave me alone.”
He goes to walk away, content that they couldn’t be causing Kimura-san or Suzuki-chan, her daughter, any problems when they head home in an hour or so, and one of them literally grabs onto his leg, clinging like a child.
What the hell has he done to deserve this.

She's not all that impressed, initially, but Getabōshi grows on her. Like a green and white fungus.
(And, really, there's only so much time she can spend in Getabōshi's company and realize that the best way to draw him out of science rambles and mutters and that general headspace is to say, "Ichi-nii." So, she maybe nudges things along. Ichi-nii needs to know that someone is in his corner, and if that isn't where Getabōshi is standing then Yuzu isn't her twin.)

Takabayshi-san’s eyes glitter with tears, but he nods. “I’ll tell them. And I’ll lay red camellias at your grave.
Ichigo smiles, recalling the day when he was helping Takabayashi-san garden and the old man had explained the meanings behind different flowers. The noble death of a warrior and love.
“I’d like that.”An hour later, he takes his final breath and thinks, finally.

Kurosaki Isshin had a plan. It was a simple plan- if he could get the spiritual world away from his son, now that his son had lost his powers, Ichigo would be able to live a happy mortal life and avoid all the problems that tried to kill him, everything that brought pain and hurt and suffering to his eldest child. It would be good for him- after all, life in the mortal world had been good for him.
What he forgot to think about was that his son's friends weren't about to let him go. None of them had been the type to let go of things even before their powers had settled into them, and certainly not afterwards. And these people are already skilled at changing the world.

Ichigo also tries to ask Kisuke what was going on, but something caught his eyes. A bag was hastily packed full with items of worth, and Ichigo immediately cottoned on what was going on.
