Draco Malfoy is extracted from Azkaban eight years into a ten-year sentence following a near-fatal attack. After barely surviving, Senior Auror Harry Potter takes him to Maison Black, an ancestral family estate in the French Alps, to recover and fulfill the remainder of his sentence.
When Hermione Granger arrives as his healer, she says she'd only be there for a week, but Draco's mind is hiding something that only she can find. She's not the Brightest Witch of her Age for nothing.
While Hermione works on healing Draco, with the help of one of the Black family's nosy house-elves, questions still plague his case. Who attacked Draco? Was it an isolated incident, or a larger conspiracy that has the Malfoy family at its center? Who wanted him dead, and how far are they willing to go to achieve their objectives?

“Do you want to tell him, or shall I?” Harry queried, hands on his hips.
“Stop acting like you’re my dad!” Hermione grumbled through a tense jaw.
“Stop acting like you need a dad, Hermione.” The Boy Who Lived took two long strides to the potting table beside Hermione and slammed his hand on it. For the first time, Draco’s eyes caught on a strange object on the table; it was long and covered with a length of fabric.
“What’s under the sheet?” Draco asked, a coldness creeping up his back. Hermione looked wide-eyed at Harry and shook her head.
“I can survive with one, just send him on his way.” She whispered, tears welling in her eyes; panic was evident on her face.
“One what?” Draco’s mouth went dry. Something was very wrong indeed.
“Hermione has done something very reckless-” Harry started, his voice thick with a chiding tone.

Summary
Merlin does a lot for Camelot and those he cares about. It’s a full time job on top of his full time job. A lot of it is stressful. Most of it is traumatising on some level. That kind of thing tends to catch up to a person.
Or, Merlin is exhausted. He collapses in front of the knights and they take him to Gaius. However, Merlin is both traumatised and very powerful. His magic needs to make sure he’s safe just as much as the knights do.
